BENGALURU, February 16, 2026 — The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), a global leader in entrepreneurial education, has officially announced its new PGDM specialization in “Entrepreneurship for Tech Startups.” Approved by the AICTE, this program is strategically designed to transform tech professionals into visionary founders, aligning with the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047.’
Launched in Bengaluru—the heart of India’s technology corridor—the program targets high-growth sectors including AI, FinTech, EdTech, and HealthTech. It offers a pragmatic curriculum that covers the end-to-end startup lifecycle: from opportunity identification and product development to funding readiness and go-to-market execution.
Empowering the Next Generation of Tech Founders
Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General of EDII, emphasized the strategic choice of location. “Bengaluru is the epicenter of India’s tech revolution. By launching this specialization here, we are providing a clear pathway for young innovators to convert high-potential ideas into scalable digital ventures, ultimately contributing to the nation’s journey toward becoming a developed economy by 2047.”
A Proven Milestone-Based Pedagogy
Unlike traditional management degrees, EDII’s two-year PGDM focuses on building entrepreneurs, not job seekers. Since its inception in 1998, the program has maintained a remarkable track record, with 79% of its 2,200+ alumni actively running businesses.
The “Tech Startups” track joins existing specializations in New Enterprise Creation, Family Business Management, and Social Entrepreneurship. Students benefit from:
- Milestone-Based Learning: Progressing through venture-building stages during the course.
- Incubation & Support: Access to EDII’s Centre for Advancing and Launching Enterprises (CRADLE).
- Financial Catalysts: Seed grants and mentorship from seasoned industry veterans.
Deep Roots in Karnataka
EDII’s commitment to the region extends beyond the classroom. Since 1997, the institute has fostered grassroots entrepreneurship in Karnataka through CSR partnerships with global giants like Accenture, HSBC, and Standard Chartered Bank. These initiatives have empowered thousands of women and MSMEs in districts such as Mandya and Kolar.
Newer projects like the Entrepreneurship Hubba in Bengaluru continue this legacy, bridging the gap between high-tech innovation and grassroots economic empowerment.
