- Event Brings Together Legal Minds to Explore Law and Technology
New Delhi, April 21, 2024 – GD Goenka University’s School of Law partnered with Cyberlaw University Pavan Duggal & Associates to host the 4th annual International Law and Technology Moot Court Competition. Held on April 13th, the competition saw law students from across India compete in a simulated courtroom setting.
The event kicked off with an opening ceremony on April 4th featuring prominent guests like Dr. Raghavender GR, a former government official, and Prof. Dr. Anuradha R Tiwary, the university registrar.
Over 28 teams from prestigious law schools battled it out, showcasing their legal knowledge and courtroom skills. The competition fostered critical thinking and teamwork among the participants.
“This competition is a great platform for aspiring lawyers to develop their skills,” said Prof. Dr. Kim Menezes, the university’s Vice Chancellor. “The discussions were insightful, and the students presented innovative legal arguments.”
Dr. Ashok Wajde, a renowned law professor, served as the chief guest and final round judge. He emphasized the importance of strong research and collaboration in addressing complex legal issues arising from new technologies, especially regarding transnational cybercrime.
Other esteemed guests included legal professionals from Dua Associates, Cyber Law University, and UKCL and Partners.
Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University emerged victorious, with Symbiosis Law School Pune taking home the runner-up title and the Best Memorial award. Additionally, OP Jindal University students received the Best Speaker and Best Researcher trophies.
The GD Goenka International Law and Technology Moot Court Competition served as a valuable platform for future lawyers to hone their skills and gain valuable experience in the evolving legal landscape.
