BENGALURU, 10 September 2026 — Indian consumers across five major cities are set to experience the richness of UK gastronomy through ‘Great Food From Great Britain,’ a month-long retail campaign taking place throughout September in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

Led by the UK Government’s Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST), the activation will take center stage at participating Food Square and Food Stories retail locations. Designed to showcase the provenance, quality, and diversity of British food and drink, the campaign blends dedicated product displays with interactive in-store experiences, including live cooking demonstrations, workshops, sampling sessions, and culinary storytelling.

The initiative aims to inspire food-curious consumers to integrate iconic British ingredients into their daily routines and special celebrations—ranging from traditional breakfast, brunch, and afternoon tea to picnics, gifting, and at-home entertaining. Featured product categories include premium cheeses, artisan biscuits, chocolates, jams, preserves, fine teas, and coffees.

This campaign comes on the heels of the landmark UK-India trade agreement, which came into effect on 15 July 2026. The historic deal has significantly streamlined imports and reduced tariffs, making high-quality UK food and beverage products more accessible, affordable, and widely available to Indian shoppers than ever before.

“The Great Food From Great Britain campaign is a wonderful opportunity to bring the best of British food and drink closer to consumers in Bengaluru,” said Owen Richards, Deputy Head of Mission, Bengaluru. “From the quality and heritage of these products to the innovation and variety they offer, British food and drink has something for every occasion and taste. As the UK and India deepen their trade and economic partnership, initiatives such as this are helping create greater awareness, encouraging discovery, and opening up new opportunities for British brands in the Indian market.”

The retail partnership emphasizes experiential shopping, moving beyond simple shelf presence to actively engage all five senses.

Ashni Biyani, Co-Founder of Foodstories, highlighted the vision behind the collaboration: “Foodstories is a food platform built around the discovery of ingredients, bringing together flavours and food cultures from around the world. Storytelling is an important part of how we do this—we want people to interact, explore, and understand the craft behind what they eat. Our customers in India are increasingly discerning, and Britain has a long history of showing how craftsmanship and quality ingredients can elevate everyday life. This campaign allows us to give our customers a chance to experience the depth and diversity of British food culture firsthand.”

By combining interactive culinary experiences with seamless product availability, the ‘Great Food From Great Britain’ campaign bridges cultures, offering Indian shoppers fresh inspiration to discover and enjoy authentic British flavors throughout September and beyond.
