Bengaluru, India, May 9, 2024: Honda R&D (India) Private Limited (HRID), Honda’s Indian arm for motorcycle and power product research and development, inaugurated a new Solution R&D Center in Bengaluru, India. This center aims to accelerate the development of electric vehicles (EVs) for the Indian market.

Honda is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2050 and is actively electrifying its product line. The goal is to have all motorcycles achieve carbon neutrality by the 2040s.

India is also looking towards a greener future, with the government setting a net-zero emissions target by 2070. To stay competitive, Honda recognizes the need to embrace electrification and explore entirely new mobility solutions.

The new center will focus on:

  • Integrating advanced technologies for faster EV development
  • Creating software and connected services through open innovation partnerships
  • Leveraging Bengaluru’s startup ecosystem to develop new mobility services and businesses

Honda will also address social issues through its Triple Action to ZERO initiative, which promotes carbon neutrality, clean energy, and resource circulation. Additionally, they will continue efforts to prevent traffic accidents.
