The COVID-19 ward in Bengaluru’s Dr. Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education & Research (CDSIMER) and Hospital has taken efforts to create a family like environment for the patients in order to help alleviate the fear that hangs uneasily in minds of infected Covid 19 sufferers 

Bengaluru, 22nd May 2021:  The pandemic has inflicted unimaginable pain upon everyone but it is our healthcare workers who have fought on the forefront and have shown what resilience means for everyone. Since the first wave the hospitals have witnessed grim depression and sadness, but the second wave has intensified the pressure and have wrecked the morale of patients and doctors equally.

The novel coronavirus besides impacting the patients physically has caused anxiety and depression amongst many patients.  

Amidst this pandemic gloom, doctors and staff at the Dr. Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education & Research (CDSIMER) and Hospital, Bengaluru are doing their best to cheer the patients by playing inspirational songs. They are trying their best to create an environment of positivity in the Covid 19 wards by doing this. Several doctors in the video can be seen exercising and dancing to the tunes of popular film songs and even encouraging patients to repeat the steps while sitting. Patients can be seen repeating the steps while some can be seen resting on their beds.

In the video, doctors and nurses can be seen dancing in the COVID ward while wearing PPE kits.

Mr. Rohan Prem Sagar, Member Governing Council-Dayananda Sagar University said, “Medical professionals across the world are battling this deadly virus. We all are in this together. At the hospital, we understand what the patients are going through. It has impacted their minds and bodies equally. Doctors, nurses, staff and, the hospital leadership are doing everything to create a family like environment for the patients in order to help remove fear, leading them on to the path of faster recovery and go home as healthy individuals”.
