BENGALURU – Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles today announced the launch of the Jawa 42 Ivory, a fresh addition to its trailblazing neo-classic lineup. Inspired by the global shift toward soft minimalism and the 2026 Colour of the Year, the Ivory shade offers a restorative, “unhurried” aesthetic as a respite from modern cultural noise.
A Design-First Philosophy
Since its 2018 debut, the Jawa 42 has challenged the monotony of the mid-size classic segment. While competitors leaned into predictable greys and chromes, the 42 introduced a design-first silhouette and a playful pastel palette.
The new Ivory edition continues this legacy of “understated cool,” featuring:
- Vintage Livery: The words ‘forty-two’ are emblazoned across the fuel tank and rear fender in a classic vintage font.
- Racing Heritage: A chequered flag graphic on the signature tear-drop tank and new side-panel decals pay homage to the Isle of Man TT era and legendary track machines of the ’60s and ’70s.
Modern Accents: The contrast between the striking decals and the soft Ivory finish makes the pastel pop, complemented by the brand’s signature offset instrument console.
“The Jawa 42 rewrote the classic playbook,” said Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles. “Those who choose a 42 are stepping back from the noise to craft a story of their own. With Ivory, we are recognizing a mood of discovery and ease. 42 remains our symbol of honest curiosity—a refusal to follow prescription.”
The Meaning Behind the “42”
The name “42” is a nod to Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, where the number represents the ultimate meaning of life. For Jawa, it symbolizes that the true meaning of motorcycling is found through experience and the refusal to follow a linear path.
Proven Performance Engineering
Beneath its retro exterior, the Jawa 42 Ivory packs serious modern engineering. It is powered by the 294-cc liquid-cooled J-Panther engine, delivering:
- Power & Torque:32 PS and 26.84 Nm, offering up to 40% more power than other 350cc motorcycles in its class.
Transmission: A category-first 6-speed gearbox paired with an Assist and Slipper (A&S) clutch.
- Refinement: Optimized NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) levels, updated throttle maps, and a suspension tuned specifically for diverse Indian road conditions.
Pricing and Availability
The Jawa 42 Ivory is positioned as a compelling package for youth who value individuality without compromising on performance.
- Price: Rs 1,84,950 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi)
With its premium detailing, singular finish, and unmistakable road presence, the Jawa 42 Ivory is more than just a motorcycle—it is a statement of intent for the modern rider.
