Karnataka Launches Second Bengaluru Skill Summit to Prepare Workforce for 2030 - thisweekindia

Bengaluru, India 15 May 2026 – The Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood (SDEL), Government of Karnataka, has officially announced the return of its flagship platform, the second Bengaluru Skill Summit. Building on the success of its inaugural event, the summit is scheduled to take place from November 3–5, 2026, at the Lalit Ashok in Bengaluru. The three-day convention aims to align policy, industry, and education as the global demand for a highly skilled and adaptive workforce continues to accelerate.

Hosted by the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) in collaboration with the Karnataka Skill Development Authority (KSDA), the summit features the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) as its knowledge partner, with management led by Trescon. This year’s edition represents a strategic pivot from intent to execution. It will bring together key stakeholders across the skilling ecosystem—including ministers, policymakers, industry leaders, academicians, training and assessment bodies, and multilateral organizations—to build integrated, industry-aligned systems capable of delivering employable talent at scale.

Emphasizing the state’s vision, Dr. Sharanaprakash Rudrappa Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood, Government of Karnataka, stated: “The Bengaluru Skill Summit 2026 marks an important step in Karnataka’s continued commitment to building a future-ready workforce. As industries evolve and global opportunities expand, our focus remains on creating a unified, high-quality skilling ecosystem that enables our youth to compete and succeed at a global level. We look forward to bringing together leaders from across sectors to shape the next phase of this journey.”

Under the central theme “Workforce 2030: Scale, Systems, Synergy,” the summit will prioritize expanding access to skilling, strengthening institutional frameworks, and fostering deeper public-private-academic collaborations. The comprehensive program is designed to tackle emerging workforce requirements in cutting-edge fields, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Industry 4.0, deep tech, and green jobs. Additionally, critical conversations will focus on social inclusion, innovation, apprenticeship-led learning, expanding district-level infrastructure, and promoting global workforce mobility.

With employers increasingly seeking day-one, job-ready professionals, the event will spotlight integrated, industry-led skilling models that blend traditional vocational training with hands-on learning, upskilling, and re-skilling initiatives. Designed specifically for measurable outcomes rather than just dialogue, the high-profile gathering expects to attract over 4,500 participants, 150 speakers, 100 exhibitors, and 40 media partners.

Ultimately, the Bengaluru Skill Summit 2026 is positioned to anchor policy direction, establish high-impact institutional partnerships, and accelerate the development of a competitive, mobile workforce. By tightly connecting government initiatives, training providers, and employers, the summit directly supports Karnataka’s long-term economic strategy and its ambitious drive toward a trillion-dollar growth trajectory, establishing the state as a premier global talent and skilling hub.
