NSE Academy Limited (NAL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) intends to collaborate with Karnataka State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) to provide financial education and investment awareness for the holistic well-being of college students.
Under the collaboration, all undergraduate students in the state of Karnataka, will gain the advantage of an enriched curriculum in financial education developed by experts from NSE Academy and Professors of Universities in Karnataka. A Centre of Excellence shall be set up at BASE University with an action plan for up-skilling students for careers in BFSI and creating recruitment exposure by benchmarking the program with international standards.
Karnataka Higher Education Minister Dr. C. N. Ashwathnarayan informed of the decision, in a meeting dated February 16, 2022 held between Senior Officials of NSE Academy and the Office of Minister of Higher Education, Karnataka.
Dr. Ashwathnarayan highlighted the importance of engaging the students not only theoretically but holistically. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashwathnarayan said “The state government is having an open mind about the financial education and investment awareness program. The program will provide financial awareness and scientific knowledge about entrepreneurship to students. This will impart knowledge to students on economic policies, fintech, capital market, central banks among other subjects. Further, this will include the exchange of knowledge between students and faculties of colleges across the state.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravi Varanasi, President and Chief Business Development Officer, NSE said: “This collaboration will empower the youth of Karnataka with sound financial knowledge and financial management skills through a long-term intervention at the higher education level.”
Mr. Abhilash Misra, Chief Executive Officer, NSE Academy Limited said: “NSE Academy promotes financial literacy and skill oriented financial market courses in the other states of the country.
