Mumbai, February 17, 2022: Mauris Noronha, a businessman by profession and a philanthropist by passion, was presented for ‘Social Activities’ by the Maharashtra Gaurav Awards for his benevolent contribution to the field of humanitarianism in the state of Maharashtra.
The Honourable Governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari presented the award at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai in the presence of Smt. Amruta Fadnavis, an Indian banker, singer, and social activist. Presenting the award Shri Bhagat Singh said, “It is an honor for me to present this award to such dutiful and ingenious people who have achieved a great deal and shown exemplary work in their respective fields.” He added, “When you achieve something, it’s not just for yourself or your family, it’s for the state, nation, and humanity at large.”
Adding to this Amruta Fadnavis quoted, “ When one follows the philosophy of nation first, then no one can stop India to be the five billion economies we aim at.” The esteemed award is extended to honor talented individuals from the state, acknowledged for creating outstanding triumph stories and motivating the nation at large, through their laudable efforts in their respective fields.
In this era of a deadly pandemic, which has wreaked havoc in all sections of society, Mauris Noronha has extended his support to one and all. A resident of the IC Colony in Borivali, Mauris Noronha has been on the battlefront helping thousands of deprived and underprivileged people with essential food items and necessary commodities. Ever since, the social worker, through social media with the assistance of volunteers has reached out with health supplies and rations to over lakhs of households. Furthermore, his team has proved to be the driving force in distributing medicines, hand sanitizers, PPE kits, face masks and shields to the frontline covid warriors like the ambulance workers, reporters, Mumbai Police, BMC workers, and the BEST drivers.
Mauris Noronha has been recognized for his commendable and noteworthy efforts many a time. He has been recently awarded the “Buddha Peace Awards 2021”, which was organised by the Maitry Peace Foundation in collaboration with the Myanmar Embassy. He has also been felicitated with the “Sarvottam Samman” award which is presented to only twenty individuals in the country for their boundless contribution to society. In addition, Noronha has also received the “10th Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Award 2020” by the minister of the state, Shri Ramdas Athawale.
Through his humane and selfless efforts, Mauris Noronha has stepped up for the masses in these challenging times. He appeals to everyone, “ One needs to think about the destitute in such testing times and that is the only way one can help mankind.” He has surely restored faith in humanity and has proved to be an inspiration for the nation at large.
