Ladies Circle India Honors Soldiers with Raksha Bandhan Celebration - thisweekindia

Bangalore, August 11, 2025 – In a touching tribute to the nation’s protectors, Bangalore North Ladies Circle 14 (BNLC 14), with support from Area 6 of Ladies Circle India, celebrated Raksha Bandhan with over 200 jawans at the Parachute Regiment in Bengaluru. The event, now in its sixth year, honored the soldiers as brothers who tirelessly guard the country’s borders.

Members of the Ladies Circle listened to stories of valor and dedication from the officers and jawans. The women performed the traditional Rakhi ceremony, applying a tilak on the soldiers’ foreheads, praying for their well-being, and tying Rakhis as a symbol of gratitude and affection. The soldiers, who were eagerly anticipating the visit, welcomed the women with open arms, creating an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie. This heartfelt event celebrated the spirit of Raksha Bandhan by extending the traditional bond beyond family to include those who protect the nation.

The Commanding Officer of the Parachute Regiment thanked the Ladies Circle for their gesture and emphasized the importance of citizen vigilance, self-defense training, and understanding the evolving nature of modern warfare, which includes information and trade conflicts.

This initiative was spearheaded by Cr Shruti Kiran, Mentor of BNLC 14, and was made possible by contributions from six circles: BSLC66, BCLC105, BTLC122, BMTLC54, BKLC107, and BNLC14. The celebration ended with refreshments and a memento presented to Ladies Circle India.
