Kolar, 18th November 2025. A significant step towards empowering Karnataka’s youth was taken on Tuesday at the Government First Grade Boys’ College, Kolar, which successfully hosted a Mega Job Fair providing vital career pathways for graduating students. The event, marked by high energy and palpable anticipation among aspirants, resulted in over 300 students securing employment.
The comprehensive Job Fair was a collaborative effort organized by the IQAC and Placement Committee of the Government First Grade Boys’ College, Kolar, in partnership with the Department of Collegiate Education and the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC).
Key Highlights of the Event:
- Target Audience: The fair was specifically organized for students from all Government First Grade Colleges under the jurisdiction of Bangalore North University who completed their degree with an integrated skill course during the 2024-25 academic year.
- Industry Participation: Over 25 reputed companies participated, offering roles in diverse and emerging sectors. Notable participating domains included:

- GST Accounting
- Media & Film Making
Impact and Outreach: More than 800 students from various colleges under Bangalore North University attended the event.
Job Offers: A total of over 300 students were successfully placed, marking a high conversion rate and demonstrating the effectiveness of integrating skill-based education with traditional degrees.
The Job Fair was officially inaugurated with College Principal Dr. A. Munishamappa presiding over the ceremony. Smt. Sumathi B.S., Executive Director of KSDC, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the state’s commitment to skill development and employment.
The organizing efforts received high praise from key dignitaries:

IAS, Commissioner of the Department of Collegiate Education. Prof. Shobha G., Director of the Department of Collegiate Education, also extended congratulations to the college administration for the successful execution while Dr. Patrick Rajkumar played an active role as placement coordinator to make this job fair all the more meaningful.
Interview arrangements were meticulously managed across more than 20 designated rooms to ensure a smooth process for the job seekers. The success of the day-long event was further supported by the collective efforts of the college’s teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as students from NCC, NSS, and Scouts and Guides units.
