India 10th May 2022. The Mrs. United Nations World Finals took place from 2 May 2022 till 7 May 2022 in New Delhi. The Grand Finale which was conducted by United Nations pageant took place in five rounds such as Introduction round in Red gown, National Costume round, Sports round, Interview round and evening gown. The contestants were groomed by an expert panel of fashion choreographers and trainers.
The pageant week was filled with glamour and intellectual life. Anjali Rao is one among the 90 contestants from 17 nations competing for the title. Representing India, Anjali shares her journey so far. Anjali is a resident of Bangalore, Karnataka. A blogger, fitness enthusiast and a regular contributor to parenting magazines, she is an active volunteer with local Government schools. As a Mass Communication and Journalism Degree holder, she says, “A lot of people don’t understand pageantry. It is more than just beauty. You have to be able to answer questions, discover your strengths and perfect them, realize your weaknesses and transform them into strengths. It is about empowering women”.
“It is such a pride to be crowned as the winner Mrs. United Nations Charity 2022. This is a Prestigious platform for Women, Children, Teens and Men. This pageant not only gives an opportunity to celebrate womanhood but also encourages charity and philanthropy”, Anjali says. Professionally a Project Manager at a reputed service provider, Anjali is also a mom to a 4-years old and says her daughter is her motivation and the driving force behind everything she does. Anjali wants to show women that being a mom does not close the door to fulfilling their dreams. Women are capable of being a wonderful mother, being successful in their careers, and also accomplishing their dreams. She advocates the importance of never giving up on your dreams and goals.
Anjali Rao also shared the knowledge and experience she gained during her journey from the pageant. “Being in a pageant teaches you to be confident and to love yourself. It is a way to enjoy some healthy competition and promote good causes. Pageantry teaches personality development, communication skills, confidence and stress management. These skills help the participants to carve out their own path in life. Participating in a prestigious beauty pageant can open a flood-gate of opportunities. Beauty pageants such as this are a test of the combination of beauty and brain. The contestants also need to demonstrate their intellectual capacity in such competitions.” Anjali says.
“I have always loved bedazzled gowns of sequins, capes, tulle, and glitter. I planned my outfits and crafted my headgears and accessories. Making them with my own hands gave me such a pleasure and sense of accomplishment” says Anjali
