August 2021: The Covid-19 pandemic had a devastating impact on the academic calendar. The exams like NEET, JEE etc. were postponed. But now as things are getting back to the path the exams are being scheduled.
The NEET PG is a highly competitive exam that is held for admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/MS (Master in Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country.
The NEET PG 2021 is scheduled to be held on 11th September, 2021.
Students appearing for the online National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) post graduate exams are under pressure and continuously demanding for the change of center and category after the new reservation policy was announced.
Days after the Union government introduced the other backward class (OBC) and economically weaker section (EWS) quotas in all-India medical and dental seats, National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET-PG) aspirants are a worried lot. Many have approached the National Board of Education (NBE) seeking help in re-opening the NEET-PG registration website in order to accommodate the latest changes in the reservation system. The reason behind that was most of them filled the form under the unreserved category.
According to the new reservation policy OBC are given 27%, EWS 10%, SC 15%, ST 7.5%, Physically Handicraft 5% and Unreserved 35.5% under All India Quota.
NEET PG aspirants opted for the centers few months back when they were in the other state or where they were doing internship. But presently most of them have completed their internship and they are in their hometown. They are far from their exam centers. Hence, they want the exam conducting body to allow them to change their exam centers.
Commenting on the same Mr. Gaurav Tyagi, Founder- Career Xpert said, ”I request NBE, GoI and the concerned authorities to allow the candidates for the options of center and category change as they filled the form months back when no amendments were made. My best wishes to all the aspirants.”
