Bangalore, India – March 4, 2025 – Marking World Obesity Day 2025, Novo Nordisk Education Foundation (NNEF) and Embassy REIT celebrated the first anniversary of NovoHealth@EmbassyManyata, a successful workplace health program launched at Embassy Manyata Business Park. This initiative, a weekly 5K run club, aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to action against obesity.
The anniversary event featured prominent speakers including obesity expert Prof. Dr. David Macklin of the University of Toronto, Vikrant Shrotriya (NNEF), and Ritwik Bhattacharjee (Embassy REIT), alongside CEOs and executives from leading companies. The program, launched in 2024, has engaged over 100,000 employees, promoting active lifestyles and combating obesity.
Vikrant Shrotriya of NNEF highlighted the program’s impact, stating, “NovoHealth@EmbassyManyata is a movement that has inspired over 50 companies to prioritize health. We are making tangible progress in addressing India’s obesity challenge.”

- Over 3,300 registrations and an average of 120 weekly participants.
- Recognition of over 120 individuals for consistent participation.
- Participants collectively covered approximately 30,000 kilometers.
- Provision of professional running support, including timed bibs, warm-up sessions, and expert talks.
- Regular BMI checks for participant progress tracking.
