Bengaluru, January 14, 2026 – Ola Electric has officially announced a significant expansion of its 4680 Bharat Cell platform at the प्रारंभ 2026 event, marking a pivotal shift from a dedicated EV manufacturer to a comprehensive energy technology provider. By opening its indigenous cell technology to third-party industries and launching residential energy solutions, the company aims to establish a localized energy backbone for India’s burgeoning tech and mobility sectors.
Empowering the Startup Ecosystem
In a landmark move, Ola Electric is opening up the sale of its 4680 Bharat Cells and 1.5kWh battery packs to external businesses and startups. This initiative is designed to fuel innovation across diverse high-growth sectors, including humanoids, drones, electric vehicles, and portable medical equipment.
By providing access to high-performance, domestically manufactured energy storage, Ola is enabling Indian entrepreneurs to bypass global supply chain hurdles. This “One Cell, One Platform” strategy ensures that the same core technology powering flagship EVs is now available as a modular building block for the next generation of Indian hardware.
Ola शक्ति: Revolutionizing Residential Energy
The event also marked the commercial launch of Ola शक्ति, India’s first fully indigenous residential Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Designed to give households and small businesses greater control over their energy consumption, the system is powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell and is available in two distinct configurations:
Model Capacity Peak Power Price Delivery Date
शक्ति 3kW | 5.2kWh | 3kW | ₹1,49,999 | Mid-Feb 2026 |
शक्ति 6kW | 9.1kWh | 6kW | ₹2,49,999 | Late Jan 2026 |
Ola शक्ति is engineered to support heavy-duty appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and farm pumps, providing up to 1.5 hours of backup under full load. The product represents a fundamental shift toward energy independence for modern Indian homes and agricultural setups.
Advancing Electric Mobility
On the mobility front, Ola Electric has commenced deliveries of the Roadster X+ (9.1kWh). This flagship motorcycle, priced at ₹1,89,999, showcases the true potential of the Bharat Cell, boasting an industry-leading range of 500 km on a single charge. With an 11kW motor, it achieves 0-40 kmph in 2.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 125 kmph.
Furthermore, the company has scaled up pan-India deliveries of the S1 Pro+ 5.2kWh. Priced at ₹1,90,338, this scooter features a powerful 13kW motor and the 4680 Bharat Cell, offering an IDC range of 320 km and a blistering 0-40 kmph acceleration time of just 2.1 seconds.
A Vision for India’s Energy Future
“The 4680 Bharat Cell is at the core of our in-house energy and mobility ecosystem,” stated an Ola Electric spokesperson. “By opening this platform to startups, we are enabling applications ranging from medical machines to advanced robotics. We are building a future-ready energy backbone—designed, engineered, and manufactured right here in India.”
Through this expansion, Ola Electric is not just selling vehicles; it is positioning itself as the primary architect of India’s self-reliant energy infrastructure. Whether through the Roadster on the road or the शक्ति system in the home, the 4680 Bharat Cell is set to become the standard for Indian power.
