Bengaluru November 28, 2025 – The second day of the “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” (JJJK) celebration at Vishwa Vidyapeeth Group of Schools’ Vikrmashila campus was a resounding success, marked by an inspiring blend of national pride, agricultural innovation, and extraordinary human resilience. The event paid profound tribute to India’s soldiers and farmers.
The day commenced ceremoniously with a magnificent inaugural cavalcade. Esteemed guests, including Padma Shri Murlikant Petkar and Padma Shri Mahalinga Naik, were elegantly escorted in adorned bullock carts. The procession, accompanied by Director Smt. Suseela Santhosh and school Seniors, was invigorated by a spirited Kamsaale dance performance.
Following a warm reception, the proceedings formally initiated on stage with the Lighting of the Lamp and a communal prayer. Six distinguished guests were formally introduced and honored. Director Smt. Suseela Santhosh delivered a highly inspirational address, which was followed by the much-anticipated Ideathon Prize Distribution, rewarding the brightest student innovators. The stage also featured a breathtaking Kalaripayattu art presentation showcasing weapon movement and steps.
A series of enlightening ‘Harates’ (interactive sessions), led by the honored guests, focused on themes critical to national progress:
- Resilience and Triumph: Padma Shri Murlikant Petkar, India’s first-ever Paralympic gold medallist, conveyed powerful themes of determination and triumph, inspiring students with his life story.
- Sustainable Farming: Padma Shri Mahalinga Naik highlighted the vital importance of sustainable farming methods.
- Science and Agriculture: Former ISRO project scientist Shri Divakar Channappa emphasized the crucial role of combining science with sustainable agriculture.
- Ecological Restoration: Kavita Mishra highlighted the immense potential of scientific perseverance in ecological restoration.
- Courage and Defense Families: Shakunthala Bhandarkar communicated the critical importance of courage, sacrifice, and supporting defense families.
- Agrobiodiversity: Shri K. Deva Rao stressed the crucial necessity of conserving India’s rich agrobiodiversity, having preserved over 240 traditional rice varieties.
A major highlight was the successful convening of the National Conference on Agriculture and Technology (NCAT’25), organized by the esteemed DRDO team. This platform facilitated the collective sharing of knowledge, discussion of new strategies, and exploration of innovative technologies.
The day culminated in a vibrant cultural extravaganza. The evening featured an exquisite inaugural dance and was mesmerized by a performance from the world-acclaimed three-time Grammy Award winner, Padma Shri Ricky Kej. His masterful fusion of Indian classical with contemporary world sounds powerfully conveyed visionary messages advocating for peace and environmental consciousness, bringing the celebrations to a spectacular close.
Murlikant Petkar’s journey, from a severe injury sustained in the 1965 Indo-Pak war to winning a gold medal and setting a world record in swimming at the 1972 Heidelberg Paralympics, deeply resonated, embodying grit, discipline, and courage for all students.
