Rotary Bangalore Midtown and District 3191 Hit the Road to Raise Cancer Awareness
In a two-day initiative (April 19th & 20th, 2024), Rotary Midtown, along with District 3191, embarked on the RACE Road Show, traveling from Bangalore to Mangalore and back. This unique campaign aimed to spread awareness about cancer prevention and early detection through Rotary’s Answer to Cancer Enigma (RACE) program.
Why RACE?
Cancer is a global health crisis, and Rotary Midtown recognizes the importance of early intervention. The RACE program emphasizes regular cancer screenings as a life-saving tool.
Spreading the Message:
The RACE Road Show served as a platform for Rotary members to engage with communities and fellow Rotarians in Ramanagara, Channapatna, Mandya, Mysore, and Hassan. Over 20 Rotary clubs participated, fostering collaboration and leveraging collective resources for maximum impact.
Engaging the Community:
Interactive sessions and discussions educated participants about:
- The importance of regular cancer screenings
- Risk factors for different cancers
- Available resources for support and treatment
Beyond Awareness – A Call to Action:
The Road Show aimed to inspire action beyond awareness. Rotary members hope to empower individuals and communities through:
- Educational initiatives
- Advocacy campaigns
- Community outreach programs
This encourages proactive steps towards health and well-being, ultimately reducing cancer’s impact.
Together We Can Conquer Cancer:
Rotary Midtown and District 3191 invite everyone to join the fight against cancer. By working together, the spirit of service above self can create a future where cancer is a conquerable challenge, not a dreaded enigma.
The RACE Road Show exemplifies Rotary’s commitment to making a difference. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, we can create a healthier world, free from cancer. Let’s race towards a brighter tomorrow!
