Bengaluru, 18 th September, 2025 – Inaugurating the three day 55 th Federation of Hotels and Restaurants Association of India (FHRAI) in Bengaluru today, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri. Siddaramaiah unveiled policies that will boost tourism sector in the state of Karnataka.
With the theme ‘ Futurescape 2047 : Refining Hospitality for New India’ the Chief Minister stated that domestic tourist arrivals reached 30.46 crores in 2024 a 56% increase from previous year. The tourism sector provided ₹ 25,000 cr for the states economy and providing 4 lac direct and indirect jobs while it has already trained 1,000 youth as tourist guides it aims aims to train upto 50,000 youth by 2026.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Bengaluru is a fast becoming premium hub for hosting MICE ( Meetings, Incentives, Conference, Exhibition)with a total share of 15% in the sector in the country.
Siddaramaiah also highlighted that ₹ 200 crores has been set for coastal tourism development and the state has developed about 54 new hotels and resorts.
Also speaking at the event Sri. D. K.Shivakumar, Hon’ble Minister for Water Resources and Bengaluru Development stated that post 3 days of delibration of FHRAI event, he requested it’s members to come out with suggestions so policies could be framed to promote the tourism sector of the state.
He highlighted how the Convention centre near Nelamangala helped to establish 5-6 star hotels in the vicinity.
Karnataka being the second largest economy in the country, it’s fortunate that the state is bestowed with varied regions like North Karnataka, Coastal Region, South Karnataka all with its unique natural beauty.
Sri. H.K. Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Govt of Karnataka stated that with the New Tourism Policy that was unveiled earlier this year by the state provides subsidise for premium hotels upto ₹ 5 crores, MICE upto ₹ 10 crores, budget hotels upto ₹ 2 crores with 50% exemption on stamp duty.
He further reiterated that so far subsidies have been provided to over 120 projects worth about ₹ 1900 crores.
Sri. H.K.Patil added that 13 tourism projects under PPP model tenders have been invited for tourism development in regions like Gadag, Hassan, Mandya.

Sri. M.B. Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Industry, Govt of Karnataka stated more then 1000 delegates who have congregated for the three days event the state is ideally placed for seeing growth in MICE sector. Government of Karnataka is encouraging investments in hospitality sector.
Sri. Syama Raju, President, FHRAI said hospitality sector includes allied sectors like aviation, hotels.
Speaking at the event Sri. Syama Raju thanked the Chief Minister Sri. Siddaramaiah for providing ₹ 1,350 crores package under Karnataka State Tourism policy 2024-2029.
