The event was led by Ramalinga Reddy, Minister for Transport and Muzrai, Govt of Karnataka and featured senior Congress leader BK Hariprasad and Lok Sabha candidate Sowmya Reddy. The gathering drew a large crowd, including former corporators, party leaders, youth, and women’s groups, all showing robust support.

BK Hariprasad, addressing the attendees, reflected on his experiences with elections in Bengaluru South since 1999. He praised Ramalinga Reddy’s consistent electoral victories over 25 years and his service to the community. Hariprasad highlighted the Congress party’s commitment to secularism and credited it with much of Bengaluru’s development.

He invoked Mahatma Gandhi’s principle of ‘Sarva Dharma Samabhava,’ advocating equal respect for all religions, as the Congress party’s guiding philosophy.

Hariprasad also spoke about issues beyond basic amenities, accusing the BJP of undermining India’s progress over the past 75 years and exacerbating poverty and unemployment. He mentioned a Electoral Bond the financial scandal involving the BJP, urging Bengaluru South’s electorate to vote in large numbers for Congress and Sowmya Reddy, stressing the constituency’s strategic importance in the national political landscape.
