Bengaluru, 09 November, 2021: SOS Children’s Villages of India, the largest self-implementing childcare NGO in the country, has been awarded with the prestigious NGO Leadership Award 2021 at National CSR Leadership Congress and Awards. The award recognizes the NGO’s use of ‘change’ as a strategic tool for sustainable growth.
SOS Children’s Villages of India was honoured at an award ceremony held at Taj Hotel, M.G. Road, Bangalore. About 100 CSR heads, corporate officials and NGO leaders participated in the function. In adherence with COVID-19 prevention norms, there was no handing over of awards. Citations were laid out on a table and winners took their awards and posed for photographs.
Mr. Sumanta Kar, Secretary General, SOS Children’s Villages of India, said: “We are glad to receive the NGO Leadership Award 2021. The award is testimony to the work that we have been doing for our children and communities. The last couple of years have been challenging for all of us, mainly because of the pandemic. We are glad that as an organization, we could step up and offer support to children and communities during these tough times. This award motivates us to continue our work more effectively and reaching out to more number of children who are in need of care and protection.”
The National CSR Leadership Congress and Awards recognizes leaders and organizations, who make an impact and believe in a ‘Making A Difference’ approach to their work. Such an approach is driven by passion and commitment towards social change. The criteria adopted for this award are incorporating ethical values, involvement in communities and protection of the environment, strategic perspective and building relationships, effective and sustainable mobilization of resources in support of programme and project work, including support from local communities, demonstration of efficient management of financial and human resources, good governance practices, transparency, accountability, and effective communication.
