Bangalore, Karnataka, February 15, 2025 – The 16th International Granite and Stone Fair, STONA 2025, concluded today after a successful four-day run, attracting over 30,000 visitors from around the globe. The event showcased the latest advancements and products in the natural stone industry, from marble and granite to innovative technologies. Exhibitors from 18 countries participated.
A highlight of the closing ceremony was the recognition of renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj, creator of the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya. Yogiraj’s masterpiece, carved from “Shyam Shila” stone from Mysuru, exemplifies the artistry achievable with natural materials. The Federation of Indian Granite & Stone Industry (FIGSI) presented Yogiraj with an honorary membership, welcoming him to the Indian stone fraternity.
“Arun’s work showcases India’s exceptional craftsmanship,” stated Krishna Prasad, President of FIGSI. “STONA has long championed talented artisans like Arun, and we are honored to have him join our community.”
FIGSI Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh added, “STONA 2025’s success reflects the growing demand for premium natural stone products. We are dedicated to fostering growth, innovation, and collaboration within the industry.”
Yogiraj expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am humbled by this recognition. Natural stone sculptures preserve our cultural heritage and showcase Indian craftsmanship. I thank FIGSI for promoting and celebrating this art form.” He also presented awards to various category winners on behalf of FIGSI.
The event also featured popular Shilpagram stalls, displaying the work of artisans and craftspeople from across India, further emphasizing the appreciation for handmade crafts and natural stone products.
Organized by FIGSI at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), STONA 2025 solidified its position as a leading platform for the natural stone industry, facilitating connections and growth for businesses worldwide.
