Bangalore, May 23, 2024: Swiggy, India’s leading on-demand delivery platform, announced two new programs to improve the health and well-being of its delivery staff as part of its “Delivering Safely” initiative. These programs include Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) and Teleconsultation Services.
Mobile Medical Units
In collaboration with Dial 4242, Swiggy launched MMUs stationed at key locations across Bangalore. These clinics offer delivery partners convenient access to comprehensive healthcare services, including:
- Health check-ups with vital sign monitoring
- Identification of potential health concerns
- First aid for minor delivery-related injuries
- Vision screenings and eye care
- Health education sessions on wellness and preventative care
The MMUs aim to serve roughly 200 delivery partners daily in Bangalore and will be rolled out to other cities soon.
Teleconsultation Services
Swiggy partnered with the Reliance-powered Visit app to provide teleconsultation services to delivery partners and their families. This program offers virtual consultations with specialists in:
- General Medicine
- Gynecology
- Orthopedics
- Pediatrics
Delivery partners will also benefit from subsidized rates on prescribed medications.
“Swiggy prioritizes the safety and well-being of our delivery partners,” said Mihir Shah, Head of Operations at Swiggy. “These mobile clinics and teleconsultations are an extension of our commitment, ensuring our partners can prioritize their health without sacrificing work.”
Both initiatives build on Swiggy’s existing “Delivering Safely” programs, which include on-demand ambulance services and paid time off. This focus on delivery partner health reinforces Swiggy’s dedication to their workforce.
