26th July 2023. Students at The Cambridge International School (TCIS) in Bengaluru celebrated World Nature Conservation Day by participating in a variety of activities to raise awareness about the importance of protecting natural resources and biodiversity.
One of the activities was an inter-house recycling competition. The competition promoted the three R’s of waste reduction: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Students brought newspaper and plastic recycling materials to school, and the materials were weighed and recorded. The house whose recyclable material weighed the most will be declared the winner at the end of the term.
“We are committed to teaching our students about the importance of conservation,” said Ms Nidhi Jain,
Middle School Co-ordinator of TCIS. “We believe that by raising awareness about these issues, we can help to create a more sustainable future.”
World Nature Conservation Day is an important opportunity to remind ourselves of the need to protect our planet. By working together, we can make a difference.
