Bangalore, 20th July , 2021: In line with its mission to support the Government of Karnataka in enhancing healthcare infrastructure, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today handed over a CT Scanner to the authorities at the Ramanagara Covid Hospital in the presence of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C N Ashwathnarayan and Mr. Sudeep S. Dalvi, Senior Vice President, Director & Chief Communication Officer, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and other company representatives.
TKM procured and had the CT Scanner installed, including all its hardware and software components, at Ramanagara Covid Hospital. With this, critical patients need not travel far for a CT scan, thereby enabling speedy diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. C N Ashwathnarayan who was present on the occasion of the handover, said, “TKM has been constantly complementing the Government of Karnataka’s efforts to expand the healthcare facilities quickly, particularly for those people from the rural parts of the state; and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them. More importantly, the infrastructure being created now with the help of corporates will help serve the communities beyond the current pandemic by improving accessibility to critical diagnosis. I am confident that with the continuous cooperation of the citizens and corporates alike, we will effectively curb the spread of the pandemic.”
Talking about the initiative, Mr. Sudeep S. Dalvi, Senior Vice President, Director & Chief Communication Officer, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Today, there is a need to augment the public healthcare infrastructure at a rapid pace as many people are dependent on it for their treatment needs. At TKM, we are committed to extending all possible help to the local communities as per their emerging needs by joining hands with the Government to complement their efforts for better impact. We will continue to undertake initiatives and support the healthcare domain wherever possible as the pandemic has put unprecedented pressure on the available health infrastructure.”
Since the outbreak of the second wave, TKM has been consistently working closely with the Karnataka Health Department by providing essential medical equipment, transportation, and health kits, as necessary. Recently, TKM handed over 130 oxygen concentrators to the Government of Karnataka; and made available another 10 oxygen concentrators to the Uttar Pradesh Police Department. Besides oxygen concentrators, TKM has given Ambu bags, bedside monitors, oximeters, glucometers, masks, sanitisers and other essential materials to the District Health Office of Ramanagara for their immediate requirements. It also extended help to ensure maximum reach of the vaccination drive by enabling transportation facility for the Health Department of Ramanagara District. To complement government efforts and support community, TKM has invested 4 crore towards Covid support since the second wave.
Further, TKM is setting up an oxygen generating plant at Community Health Centre (CHC), Bidadi, near Bangalore. The company is also supporting the construction of a modern CHC at Bidadi to benefit the local communities.
