Hyperlocal delivery and omnichannel food app, now available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store; to provide over 100 VR F&B operators’ digital access to 1.2 million existing Foodbox Customers
India, July 15: VR South Asia, the award-winning, community-oriented, lifestyle centre developer and operator, today announced the launch of their digital, hyperlocal F&B delivery platform “VR Foodbox App”. The digital platform allows F&B operators to service the hyperlocal market, and customers to transact digitally and order dine-in, take- away, and home delivery from their favourite F&B brands at their local VR Centre across India.
Available through a mobile application, for both Android and iOS, the platform was conceived keeping in mind the needs of the two key stakeholders, F&B operators and consumers. The F&B industry, especially small and local players, are particularly affected by COVID-19 and unable to sustain home delivery through aggregator channels, or lack the technical know-how and financial ability to deploy their own delivery service or contactless dine-in solutions. The VR FoodBox App provides F&B operators within the VR ecosystem a customized, affordable, yet robust solution that digitizes the dine-in experience via contactless ordering and online payments, and provides hyperlocal delivery as well.
With home delivered meals a more frequent indulgence during the pandemic, and a necessity for many others, if given a choice customers would rather not pay delivery fees, surge charges and packaging charges typically associated with aggregator platforms. Over several years, the FoodBox brand, which operates the food plazas at VR Centres and other Xander Group owned campus developments across the country, has garnered a loyal base of over
1.2 million+ customers. The new platform empowers F&B brands by giving them discoverability, and privileged access to this existing loyal customer base, without any additional costs for in – app marketing or promotions.
The digitized FoodBox brand also encompasses other F&B offerings at VR Centres, providing customers with a one- stop solution to order from their favourite outlets without any “hidden charges.” The platform differentiates itself in the online ordering segment by giving customers the freedom to club items from multiple F&B outlets in a single order, transact using the balance in their existing FoodBox wallets, and earn rewards with loyalty points redeemable against the expansive catalogue of retail, F&B, hospitality and event experiences within the broader VR ecosystem.
Commenting on the launch Sid Yog, Founder and Chairman of the Board of VR South Asia, said “the VR Foodbox App, a hyperlocal omni channel platform that digitizes the entire suite of F&B offerings at each VR center, is another example of how we are continue to focus on our mission of connecting communities. Combined with our objective of being the master operator, we are ensuring we bring the best experiences and solutions to our consumers and F&B partners, both as a B2B business and a B2C business.”
