Hyderabad, India (August 6, 2024): The Quambiant Grace Cancer Run 2024, the world’s biggest cancer awareness run, is gearing up for a massive event this October. This year’s race aims to raise funds for screening one lakh (100,000) people and promote early detection as a key weapon in the fight against cancer.

Organized by the GRACE (Global Research and Cancer Education) Cancer Foundation in partnership with HYSEA, SCSC, and others, the run will take place on October 6th. Participants from over 130 countries can join either physically at Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad, or virtually anywhere in the world.

“Run for Grace, Screen for Life” is the theme for 2024, emphasizing the importance of early detection and preventative measures. The race offers three categories: a 2km walk, a 5km fun run, and a 10km timed run.

Dr. Chinnababu Sunkavalli, Founder of GRACE and a Senior Consultant Robotic Surgical Oncologist, highlights the importance of community involvement in the fight against cancer. “The Grace Cancer Run is more than just a race,” he states. “It’s a movement to save lives through awareness, education, and early detection. By participating, you contribute to crucial cancer screening programs and research initiatives.”

The ultimate goal? A world free from cancer. Dr. Sunkavalli emphasizes the significant impact of early detection, particularly in India, where cancer is one of the leading causes of death. Funds raised from previous runs have enabled free screenings for 40,000 people in underprivileged rural communities. This year, the Grace Cancer Run aims to screen a staggering one lakh people free of charge.
