Bengaluru, Karnataka – In a powerful tribute to India’s veterans, Lulu Mall, Bengaluru, inaugurated a permanent Wall of Fame as part of its “The Great Indian Salute” event. The stirring ceremony, held just before the nation’s 78th Independence Day, celebrated the indomitable spirit of India’s armed forces and immortalized their valor for future generations.
The event, which took place on August 13, 2025, at the mall’s South Atrium, drew hundreds of attendees, including veterans, their families, and patriotic citizens. The air was filled with a sense of unity and deep gratitude as guests shared personal stories and honored India’s brave defenders.
A special public art installation, a Kargil War Memorial Model, was also a highlight. Adorned with imagery of the rugged Kargil terrain and silhouettes of soldiers standing tall, it served as a poignant reminder of the bravery and sacrifices made during the 1999 Kargil War.
The Wall of Fame: A Promise to Future Generations
The centerpiece of the event was the official inauguration of the Wall of Fame, a dedicated space located on the 3rd floor of the Lulu Mall Rajajinagar. This permanent installation features photographs, stories, and artifacts that celebrate the profound contributions of veterans. Attendees were visibly moved as they traced the service histories of their loved ones, creating an emotional and powerful atmosphere.
“This Independence Day, we want to move beyond celebration and reflect on the sacrifices that have shaped our nation,” said Mr. Shereef K K, Regional Director of Lulu Mall Karnataka. “The Wall of Fame is our tribute to the heroes who have safeguarded India’s freedom, and it is more than a memorial—it’s also a promise to future generations that courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.”
Mr. Kiran V Puthran, General Manager of Lulu Mall Bengaluru, echoed this sentiment, stating, “This is our small effort to acknowledge a very big debt we all owe. We invite all our customers and guests to come, spend a few minutes at the Wall of Honour over the next month, and carry forward the spirit of respect and remembrance. Jai Hind!”
The showcase will be open to the public for two months, offering everyone an opportunity to connect with the powerful stories of service and sacrifice that protect the nation’s freedom every day.
