Windergy India 2025: India’s only trade fair and conference dedicated to the turn seven this year, as Chennai prepares to host Windergy India 2025 from 31 at the Chennai Trade Centre, with more than 20 countries participati 15,000 people expected to attend as visitors.
The inaugural session of Windergy India 2025 will be graced by Shri Pralhad Cabinet Minister for New and Renewable Energy, and Shri Shripad Yesso Na Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy.
India, ranked fourth globally in wind energy installations, is making signifi wind power generation while continuing to achieve remarkable progr broader renewable energy landscape. Numbers suggest that as of Augus installed wind power capacity is 52681.2 MW, making it one of the largest advocates for developing wind energy, both indigenously and globally.
Moreover, the recent reforms in GST, the Government of India’s initiative on wind energy equipment from 12% to 5% are expected to give a much to the sector. Experts believe that this change in the GST slab will end affordability and innovation, bringing the country closer to its climate and goals, including the target of achieving 150 GW of wind power capacity.

Windergy India 2025 is organised by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and PDA Ventures Pvt. Ltd., with support from the Ministry of Power, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), NITI Aayog, and industry bodies such as India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), Indian Wind Power Association (IWPA), International Solar Alliance (ISA), Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ), Wind Independent Power Producer Association (WIPPA) Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), Composites Excellence Centre of Asia (CECA), National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), Hydraulics Trailer Owners Association (HTOA), Danish Wind Export, Embassy of Spain, Indo German Energy Forum, Net-Zero Energy Transition Association (NETRA), Invest India and Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. The Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) joins as the partner state, highlighting Karnataka’s leadership and commitment to wind energy innovation.
Speaking about localisation, Mr. RPV Prasad, Managing Director, Envision Energy India said, “The wind sector contributes 23% of total RE installed capacity of India, and is rapidly localising with 65-70% of turbine components now produced domestically- mainly Towers, Blades, Generator and Gearbox. As per the recent mandate issued by MNRE and with strong policy support and scaling installations, the localisation is expected to rise to 85% by 2027.
This progress reflects India’s Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, strengthene by government initiatives such as ALMM (Wind) policy, and the annual tendering of 1 GW. Windergy India 2025 is an essential platform to unite policymakers, industry leade and technology partners to collectively realise the vision of achieving 100 GW of wi capacity by 2030 and advancing toward a net-zero future.”
Windergy India 2025 will feature a formidable lineup of over 350 international and national exhibitors, alongside high-powered panel discussions and roundtables on October 30-31, led by eminent industry professionals.
Themed “Wind Power: Policies and Partnerships Towards Aatmanirbharta”, the conference aims to energise the sector and foster meaningful dialogue on India’s renewable energy ambitions.
Day 1 will open with the Tulsi R. Tanti Memorial Lecture, titled “The Road to Energy Self- Sufficiency and Net Zero: The Strategic Role of Wind”, followed by a high-level Government Policy & Regulatory Panel exploring the pathway to achieving 100 GW of wind power by 2030. The State Leadership Roundtable will highlight regional progress in “Powering the Wind Surge”, while sessions on offshore wind development and international best practices in onshore/offshore installations and operations & maintenance will offer global insights.
Day 2 will continue the momentum with discussions on policy pathways to 100 GW, unlocking capital for wind energy assets, and enhancing supply chain and carbon-neutral export competitiveness. Additional sessions will address cost-reduction strategies for raw material and component suppliers, culminating in “Winds of Influence”, a powerfu dialogue led by women leaders who are redefining India’s wind sector.
