BENGALURU, Feb 23, 2026 — The Karnataka Working Journalists Association (KWJA) has announced the official results for the Bengaluru City District Unit elections. In a decisive vote held today, Somasekhar Gandhi was elected as President, leading a newly formed executive team dedicated to representing the interests of the city’s media professionals.
Election Highlights and Leadership Appointments
Following the conclusion of the polling process, District Election Officer V. Nanjundappa formally announced the successful candidates. The leadership team for the upcoming term includes:
President: Somasekhar Gandhi
Vice President: Parimala H.S.
General Secretaries: H.K. Basavaraj and K.S. Swamy
Secretaries (Unopposed): Jayakumar Gowda, K. Harish, K.L. Lokesh, and Godavari D.S.

Executive Committee Results
The race for the District Executive Committee saw significant engagement, with Ravikanth Kundapur securing the highest number of votes to claim the top spot, followed closely by Gandasi Sadananda Swamy in second place.
The additional elected members of the committee are:
B.S. Ramachandra, Ramakanth Guggari, Gangaraju, Nataraj, Mohankumar, Rajagiri Pradeep, Lingaraju Nonavinakere, Sharan Basappa, N. Shivananda, and S. Shyam.
