BENGALURU, August 29, 2026 — India’s leading community sports platform, Playo, partnered with the Government of Karnataka to celebrate National Sports Day by launching the statewide initiative, “Play For All. Free For All.” Designed to eliminate cost barriers and make recreational sports accessible across all 31 districts of Karnataka, the program offered free access to select sports venues for the day.
Each participating district opened one designated Playo facility to the public at no cost. In Bengaluru, four venues participated, anchored by a flagship event at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
The event hosted key government officials, including:
- Shri Naveen Raj Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports
- N. Anucheth, IPS, Commissioner, Department of Information and Public Relations
Both leaders joined community members and local sports enthusiasts on the court to promote active living.
The core objective of the initiative is to encourage wider participation in non-professional sports, helping individuals build long-term athletic habits. By removing the financial entry barrier, Playo and the Karnataka Government aimed to introduce everyday citizens to the physical and social benefits of regular play.
