India , Bengaluru — August 29 2026: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. today officially introduced the BE 6 SPORTEQ, an expansive new series representing the next evolutionary leap of its flagship electric origin SUV. Designed to blend high-performance sports styling with advanced software integration, the SPORTEQ lineup broadens the choices available to EV buyers in India. Marking the series debut, Mahindra also revealed two specialized expressions: the luxury-focused BE 6 SPORTEQ Launch Edition and the high-performance BE 6 SPORTEQ Formula E Freedom Edition.
Since its original unveiling in November 2024, the BE 6 platform has served as Mahindra’s cornerstone electric SUV, driven by its “Pulse Goes Rogue” philosophy. The SPORTEQ line extends this ethos by combining physical design updates with deep artificial intelligence integration.
A New Paradigm in EV Design, Choice, and Architecture
The BE 6 SPORTEQ range expands customer options across eight distinct variants: ONE, TWO, THREE, THREE+, FOUR, FE, FE FOUR, and the Launch Edition. The series introduces four new shades—Rosso Impulso, Ruby Velvet, Graphite Storm, and Firestorm Orange Satin—bringing the total available exterior color palette to 12.
Inside, starting from the TWO variant, the cabin features a coast-to-coast three-screen digital display that spans the dashboard. For drivers seeking a classic motorsport aesthetic, the SPORTEQ Freedom Edition retains the race-inspired two-screen cockpit framed by a halo structure.
As a Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), the SPORTEQ series serves as the launch platform for Mahindra’s new software architecture. To ensure longevity and brand parity, Mahindra announced that features introduced across the SPORTEQ line will be rolled out to existing owners of the BE 6, XEV 9e, and XEV 9S via over-the-air (OTA) updates starting in January 2027.
MAIA Architecture & The Six TEQ Suites
At the core of the SPORTEQ experience is MAIA (Mahindra’s Artificial Intelligence Architecture), the intelligence layer managing vehicle controls, infotainment, and telemetry. MAIA powers six domain-specific software suites known as the TEQ Suites:
- TEQ_Talk (AI Voice Companion): Built using Google Gemini, TEQ_Talk provides natural-language conversational processing through 17 specialized AI agents. It handles over 100 core vehicle functions and integrates directly with 48 in-car applications spanning HVAC controls, turn-by-turn navigation, news feeds, and media playback.
- TEQ Play (In-Cabin Entertainment): Includes native OEM-integrated Karaoke, a Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) in-car gaming hub, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound processing, Private Audio zoning, and GrooveMe Party mode.
- TEQ Drive (Performance Dynamics): Manages dynamic handling and powertrain parameters. Includes Custom Drive Modes, Drift Mode, Tribe Drive, Revive & Revive SOS, and an exclusive Acceleration Boost function for Formula E variants.
- TEQ Me (Personalization): Enables seamless occupant recognition and automated loading of personal driver profiles upon entry.
- TEQ Secure (Safety & Access): Features Secure360 Pro live perimeter viewing with remote audio relay and intrusion alerts. It introduces a Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC)-compliant Digital Car Key system compatible with iPhone, Apple Watch, Android, and Samsung ecosystems, alongside physical NFC cards. The system also supports a 3rd-screen parental control lock.
- TEQ xting (External Customization): Allows drivers to configure customized digital messaging on the rear tailgate screen.
Special Editions: Launch Edition & Formula E Freedom Edition
- BE 6 SPORTEQ Launch Edition: Occupying the top of the standard range, this edition comes exclusively in a Graphite Storm exterior paint scheme matched with full Racing Tan leatherette upholstery.
- BE 6 SPORTEQ Formula E Freedom Edition: Directly tied to Mahindra Racing’s competitive campaign in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship—which recently included wins in Monaco and Tokyo—this edition brings track-derived elements to the road. Designed to showcase ahead of the London E-Prix, it features the original BE 6 headlamp signature, custom tricolour accents, and available satin finishes like Rosso Impulso. The interior features a Black & Firestorm Orange theme surrounding the classic two-screen halo cockpit. Mechanically, it includes an Acceleration Boost mode capable of launching the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.44 seconds.
Dr. Velusamy R, President – Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd said that , “Electric mobility is entering a new phase. Customers no longer judge an EV simply by its range or acceleration. They expect it to become more intelligent, more personal, and more capable throughout its lifetime. SPORTEQ reflects that shift. Powered by MAIA, it brings together AI, personalisation, performance, and entertainment… As the BE 6 is software-defined, it has the ability to keep evolving long after customers take delivery.”
Pratap Bose, Chief Design & Creative Officer, M&M Ltd.:
“At Mahindra, design goes beyond styling. It encompasses not just how a product looks or feels but how customers experience it in all its aspects… With SPORTEQ, we wanted the cabin to deliver the same sense of theatre as the exterior. The new Racing Tan interior, the coast-to-coast three-screen display, and every material choice have been brought together to create an environment that feels immersive, progressive, and unmistakably BE 6.”
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, M&M Ltd.:
“The BE 6 has always stood for bold design, sporty character, and the courage to do things differently. SPORTEQ builds on that foundation, combining performance-inspired experiences with intelligent technology to create the next chapter of the BE 6 story.”
