A 60-day community outreach initiative to deliver accessible heart health checks for adults and children across Bidadi, Ramanagara, and Channapatna.
Bengaluru, September 29, 2026: On the occasion of World Heart Day 2026, SPARSH Hospital, RR Nagar, launched ‘SPARSH Hrudaya Ratha – Heart Screening on Wheels’. This 60-day community outreach campaign is designed to take free cardiac screening and expert medical consultations directly to underserved communities across Bidadi, Ramanagara, and Channapatna.
The mobile healthcare initiative was officially flagged off by Sri U. T. Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka. The inauguration was attended by Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil, Founder, Chairman, and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon of SPARSH Hospitals; Dr. (Prof.) Ranjan Shetty, Lead Consultant – Cardiologist & Medical Director, SPARSH Hospital, Infantry Road; and Dr. Sandeep R. M., Chief Operating Officer, SPARSH Hospital, RR Nagar, alongside senior clinical leaders and management executives.
Through Hrudaya Ratha, SPARSH Hospitals aims to screen more than 6,000 individuals over two months, equally dividing its outreach between 3,000 adults and 3,000 children under the age of 10. Every participant will receive complimentary diagnostic services, including ECGs, echocardiograms, and specialist consultations.
A primary pillar of the campaign is pediatric cardiac care. By screening young children, SPARSH aims to detect congenital and acquired heart conditions at an early stage. Children under 10 diagnosed with cardiac diseases requiring surgical correction will be evaluated for free heart surgeries at SPARSH Hospitals, subject to medical assessment and eligibility criteria. Additionally, adults who require advanced diagnostic follow-up will be offered a special discounted angiogram package at ₹9,999.
Emphasizing the core philosophy behind the project, Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil, Founder and Chairman of SPARSH Hospitals, stated:

To maximize reach, the Hrudaya Ratha will operate on a structured weekly schedule, excluding public holidays:
- Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and dedicated rural outreach in Bidadi, Ramanagara, and Channapatna.
- Wednesdays: Corporate screening programs for local workplaces.
- Saturdays and Sundays: Neighborhoods, residential hubs, and local community spaces.
Highlighting the medical imperative for proactive heart checks, Dr. (Prof.) Ranjan Shetty, Lead Consultant – Cardiologist & Medical Director, noted:
“Cardiovascular diseases often progress silently, leaving individuals unaware of underlying risks until serious symptoms arise. A preventive approach through timely evaluation helps identify issues early and enables effective intervention. Through Hrudaya Ratha, we aim to build health awareness and normalize regular cardiac checkups.”
