Bengaluru, January 28, 2024: ASEZ WAO, an international volunteer group affiliated with the Church of God, organized a successful cleaning drive today in the Shivajinagar area of Bengaluru, focusing on the Russel market surroundings.
Over 350 volunteers from across Bengaluru participated in the drive, collecting a staggering 7,050 litres of garbage (equivalent to 235 bags of 30 litres each). The cleaning activity, held from 10 am to 12 noon, was inaugurated and joined by local MLA Rizwan Arshad.
This initiative is part of ASEZ WAO’s ongoing commitment to implementing the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The group’s motto, “Save the Earth from A to Z, We Are One Family,” reflects their dedication to environmental protection and community service.
“We are grateful for the enthusiastic participation of our volunteers and the support of local MLA Rizwan,” said John Kenan ASEZ WAO representative in Bengaluru. “This cleaning drive is a testament to the power of collective action in making a positive impact on our environment.”
ASEZ WAO’s dedication to volunteerism has been recognized internationally, with awards like the US President’s Volunteer Service Award, the Green Apple Award, and the Green World Award. They have even been appointed as Green World Ambassadors.
