BSSF marks 17 consecutive years representing Bengaluru on the global stage, with basketball taking center stage.
BENGALURU, INDIA — July 29, 2026 — The Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation (BSSF) has officially announced its participation in the 58th International Children’s Games (ICG), taking place in Hualien, Taiwan, from August 1–6, 2026.
This milestone marks BSSF’s 17th consecutive year representing both the city of Bengaluru and India at the prestigious global event. This year, BSSF is fielding a elite youth Basketball team to compete against top international talent.
Often referred to as the “Children’s Olympics,” the International Children’s Games is a global multi-sport event recognized and endorsed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Hosted annually by city mayors and governors worldwide, the games bring together young athletes aged 12 to 15 to foster international friendship, sportsmanship, and high-level competition.
BSSF has been a pioneer in developing sports at the grassroots level across India. Through its specialized academies—including the long-standing BSSF Track & Field Academy—the foundation identifies and nurtures top talent from schools and athletic clubs across Bengaluru.
The selected basketball squad has undergone months of intensive conditioning to prepare for the competition, embodying BSSF’s core values of discipline, teamwork, and athletic integrity.
Elvis Joseph, Founder & Director of BSSF, shared his vision for the delegation: “We are deeply honored to represent Bengaluru and India once again at the International Children’s Games. This platform is a testament to the remarkable potential of our young athletes. Beyond competing, these children will gain life-changing experience and inspire the next generation back home. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters who have made this 17-year journey possible.”
