Bengaluru, 5th November 2025 . The inaugural Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025 commenced today, with Karnataka’s top leadership—Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister Shri D. K. Shivakumar, and Skill Development Minister Dr. Sharanaprakash R. Patil—charting a path for Karnataka to become the “Skill Capital of India.”
The CM announced the ambitious goal of a $1 trillion economy by 2032, powered by the state’s skilled talent. He stressed that success in skilling is a product of “patience, perseverance, and continuous learning,” and noted Karnataka’s strong foundation, including pioneering programs like the Kaushalya Karnataka Yojana.
The two-day summit, hosted by the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood (SDEL) and its associated bodies, aims to achieve the ‘Workforce 2030’ vision by integrating scale, systems, and synergy. With Germany as the Country Partner, Deputy CM Shivakumar highlighted the importance of long-term global partnerships to upskill the youth.
The agenda features high-profile speakers like the CEO of NITI Aayog, B. V. R. Subrahmanyam, and will facilitate vital discussions on topics crucial for the future workforce, such as Green Skills, Industry 4.0 automation, and connecting local skills to global opportunities. The summit’s goal is to bridge the gap between education and employability, equipping youth across the state for an AI-augmented economy.
