We understand that recent media reports regarding a case in Belagavi have caused concern. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused to the customer and their family during the execution of the Court order.

This account has been in a non-performing asset (NPA) status for approximately 18 months. Despite our best efforts to work with the borrower, including offering settlement options with interest waivers and potential principal reductions, no resolution was reached.

We understand the significant impact this situation has had on the family. We are committed to working with the customer to find an amicable solution that addresses their needs while ensuring the Bank’s financial interests are also protected.

Equitas has a strong track record of supporting customers during challenging times. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided extensive support, including moratoriums to nearly 97% of our borrowers and restructuring loans worth approximately ₹2,000 crore for hundreds of thousands of customers.

We value our relationships with our customers and remain committed to fair and transparent dealings with all stakeholders. In this specific case, we will continue to engage with the customer proactively and explore all possible avenues for a mutually agreeable resolution that prioritizes the well-being of the customer and their family.
