Sony BBC Earth recently hosted a Summer Movie Festival in Bangalore in collaboration with the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), aimed at providing enriching experiences for school students. The festival, held at Bangalore’s Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, featured a range of captivating films spanning science, wildlife, adventure, and exploration genres.
Over three days, the festival engaged more than 350 students, offering them a unique educational journey. Each day featured a different lineup of films, carefully curated to stimulate curiosity and inspire young minds. Among the highlights were documentaries such as ‘Inside The Factory’, offering a fascinating glimpse into the intricacies of pencil manufacturing, and ‘Frozen Planet II’, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, which explored the harsh yet captivating environments of Earth’s polar regions.
Another noteworthy feature was ‘South Korea with Alexander Armstrong’, which provided insights into South Korea’s vibrant culture and urban landscape, including a visit to the iconic Gangnam district. Through these diverse offerings, students were encouraged to rethink their perspectives on science, nature, and culture.
The event provided an immersive educational experience for students from various schools, fostering curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. It served as a testament to Sony BBC Earth’s commitment to delivering meaningful content and inspiring the next generation of young minds.
