Commenting on the launch of the hospital, Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil, Chairman and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon, said, “We are delighted to inaugurate this dedicated multispecialty Unit exclusively for women and children who need special and personalised care covering all age groups, from neonatal to geriatric. While today women have more freedom to create, push beyond their boundaries and make an impact, their health care too, needs a new level of service which is all-inclusive, dynamic and non-judgemental. We intend to provide solution-driven care through our diverse talent of experts in a collaborative environment. When faced with any complexity, we have both the infrastructure and the expertise to resolve emergencies at all times.”
Speaking at the initiative, Dr. Sudhakar K – Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education, Government of Karnataka, said, “SPARSH Hospital for Women & Children is a welcome change to the existing healthcare needs in the city as it caters to meet the complex demands of women and children’s health in Bengaluru. I congratulate the vision of Dr Patil to embark upon yet another milestone offering focused treatment of medical complexities in women and children.”
Dr Prathima Reddy, Director & Lead Obstetrician & Gynaecologist of the hospital, added “not all medical facilities, especially birthing facilities in the city are equipped to handle complexities. It is a difficult call for any doctor to shift a patient during an emergency, to a better-equipped facility mid or post-procedure, and this is exactly what we are addressing at this hospital. Our vision is to make this hospital a destination that offers multi-speciality support and create an ecosystem that enables the doctors and staff to come together to address the most complex cases for women of all ages -be it a pre-pubertal girl or a post-menopausal lady.”
