BENGALURU, 07 October 2026. The Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood (SDEL), Government of Karnataka, today officially announced the second edition of the Bengaluru Skill Summit during a press briefing and curtain-raiser ceremony at Vikasa Soudha, Bengaluru. Building on the foundation of its inaugural event, the summit is scheduled to take place from 3 to 5 November 2026 at The Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru.
The summit returns under the overarching theme “Workforce 2030: Scale, Systems, Synergy,” reflecting Karnataka’s strategic intention to construct a future-ready talent ecosystem. Following its inaugural edition in November 2025, which drew over 6,500 participants across three days, the 2026 summit has been restructured into an execution-driven platform. New Features for the 2026 Edition
To enhance impact beyond the main venue, the 2026 Summit introduces several new initiatives:
1. Statewide Precursor Events
To build regional momentum ahead of November, regional sessions were integrated into KDEM cluster events, including the Mysuru Big Tech Show 2026 and HDB Techceleration 2026 in Hubballi. These events brought the Workforce 2030 dialogue to secondary technology hubs across Karnataka.
2. The Innovation Stage & Rural Employment Dialogue
The new Innovation Stage serves as an interactive arena for startups, educational institutions, and enterprises to showcase live skilling models and tech-enabled training solutions.
Concurrently, the Deshpande Foundation will host a closed-door Development Dialogue titled “From Skilling to Employment: Getting Rural Youth into the Workforce.” This session brings together policy experts, corporate employers, and development partners to address rural-to-urban employment transitions.
3. Expo Arena & Kaushalya Karnataka Awards 2026
The Expo Arena provides a hands-on venue for showcasing tools and technologies reshaping workforce development.
On 5 November 2026, the summit will conclude with the second annual Kaushalya Karnataka Awards. The ceremony honors outstanding contributions across corporate, institutional, and individual performance categories, including:
- Best Trainer & Best Trainee
- Best Educational/Training Institution
- Best Self-Help Group (SHG)
- Best Performing District in Skilling Outcomes
4. Skillathon 2026
A key addition to this year’s summit is Skillathon 2026, a national hackathon-style competition inviting analysts, startups, and developers to transform raw labor-market data into actionable insights.
Using public databases, participants will construct predictive models designed to assist state policymakers and feed into the architectural framework of the proposed Karnataka Skill Information System Unit (KSISU).
